I just discovered your website and read these recollections of my Dad, Nathan Brown. Amity Club was a wonderful part of his life, and I hope that today's members enjoy the friendships and activities as much as he did.

I knew Ralph, only casually from seeing him at our Amity meetings. It was obvious from the way he smiled at me and the way he dressed that he was a confident and proud man who enjoyed his life and I think would have gone out of his way to offer his help to anyone.
And from the other comments I have read, he must have been a true mensch.

I was very saddened by Ralph's passing. He was a great man, always upbeat about everything. Every time I saw Ralph he had a big smile and was happy to be enjoying life. He made you feel better about life and I will always remember his firm handshake. He was a true gentlemen and I will miss him greatly. I offer my condolences to the Rothstein family and I know from personal experience that with time the pain does not go away, nor will you miss him any less, but you just go on with your life and will live it as he would have wanted you to, to the fullest. There will be times when you cry and times when you laugh thinking about him, but one thing you will always know is that he was great great person and a real mensch and will always be remembered by anyone he came in contact with.

I was very fortunate to be able to call Ralph my friend. And what made Ralph so special was that when you were with him he made you feel special. He was just so remarkably friendly, warm and loving. He was truly one of the greatest men I have ever known and I can't imagine a world without him.

My condolences to the Rothstein family. Ralph will be missed but never forgotten.

I have missed my Amity connection the past three years and was saddened to hear of Ralph's passing.

To me, Ralph was the face of Amity....every time we met there was the great smile and upbeat personality!

Ralph was a friend of my Dad, so I was fortunate to have known him before I joined Amity.

There have been many great men of Amity who have passed, but I feel that Ralph epitomized the purpose of Amity and is deserved of special recognition, perhaps a charity fund in his name, to continue his work in Israel?

Rest in Peace and my deepest sympathy to his wonderful family.

I am very sad to read of Harry's passing. I met Harry at the Jocks HOF luncheon 3 years ago and was shocked when i learned that he might very well be the only person still around... who actually knew my best friend's father and uncle...they all used to have bagels in Rock creek Park on the week ends back in the day.

Harry used to call me up and ask me to look up the box scores when he played baseball for the Printers and the Naval Reserve Station and email them to him..He was so proud of his baseball playing days. And i was so proud of Harry using email at 90.

My friend and i finally hooked up with Harry at his place in Rockville about a year ago..and went over to a bagel place close by to have the 2 of them talk about my friend's dad who had passed 20 years earlier. Little did we know that Harry would tell him a story about his dad and how he had helped Harry ..that brought us close to tears...

I will miss my friend's phone calls and seeing him at Jocks.

Jamie,

Although I've only been an Amity member for the past 2 years, I learned quickly that your grandfather was such a warm, welcoming man. All of us have such large shoes to fill! My son and I will never forget the time we took you and Harry to the Nationals game at RFK. I wish you and the family much strength during this difficult time.
