Amity Club of Washington is a private, social club made up of local Washingtonians that emphasizes friendship, fellowship, and networking. We meet for summer golf outings at premier golf clubs in the area and in the off-season we have monthly meetings for dinner with special guest speakers from local sports teams, the media, and politics.
Our events include a few invitations for spouses and significant others. We also dedicate a portion of our annual dues towards charitable organizations.
Amity means friendship and it is this core value that is shared among all members. As a private Jewish social club that also values charity and community, this camaraderie among members is best experienced at a variety of monthly events, from golf outings, dinners with speakers, and cultural events, to opportunities to give back to the community.
The Amity Club of Washington began in 1924 (during the Calvin Coolidge administration) when a few merchants and professionals formed a card playing club and met in the basement of one of the merchant’s stores. Today, the small card playing club has come a long way and has evolved into one of the premier men’s clubs in the Washington DC area, combining great speakers, delicious food and drink, top golfing events, and generous charitable work.
